Description

We are looking for a driven, dedicated and professional individual to join our fast paced and growing plant department as an Assistant Plant Manager. Your role will be to integrate between our plant team in Head office and our fleet team within the Northampton Office. You will provide first hand support to the Plant Manager and become familiar with all facets of the business and role.

M.V. Kelly has a considerable investment in plant and is the largest contracting purchaser of

Hitachi plant in the UK. A solid workforce and modern plant allows the business to deliver work to a high standard that has been well recognised by clients. The company operates a 3-year replenishment cycle policy and purchases additional items to facilitate the demanding workload. All plant is subject to a planned preventative maintenance schedule and M.V. Kelly pride themselves on the high standard of their plant, with presentation for the business and clients being key. By owning and maintaining our own plant we can ensure we have the best and safest equipment without being reliant on external plant hire. M.V. Kelly’s fleet consists of excavators, dumpers, commercial vehicles, and cars with a combined fleet holding a figure of £40m.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with current experience to join a company that can offer further development and progression enabling you to reach your full potential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

* Improve fleet function and simplify operations

* Pull vehicle service functions into the department (tyres/windscreens/breakdowns etc.)

* Control deliveries of new equipment and vehicles and the collection of disposed items

* Assist with asset disposals and responses to enquiries

* Identify areas for improvement and instigate change in order to keep up with regulations within the industry.

Requirements:

* Good working knowledge of Plant

* Excellent communication skills oral and written

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel)

* Driving License

* Experience within the Construction Industry is advantageous
