We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Fitter for our clients busy operation in Southampton.

Job Description

Role: Electrical Fitter / Installer

Reporting to: General Manager

Hours: 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday


• The Electrical Fitters will be required to carry out Electrical repair, maintenance & servicing in the Southampton workshop as well as installation activities on-site.

• Assisting with fault finding on, including basic electrical and control panel diagnostics.

• Carry out general electrical repair works including changing three phase motors, motor starters, transformers and control panels.

• Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.

Personal attributes required:

• The Electrical Fitter will be required to have good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of working on water treatment or construction sites is preferred but not essential.

• A good all-round understanding of general electrical background.

• A willingness to learn new skills and work under own initiative.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• A minimum of NVQ3 or equivalent in an electrical based subject

• Holding or working toward 17th or 18th edition electrical qualification

• The ability to read and understand engineering and electrical drawings

• Be able to work on your own or as part of a team

• Be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients at all levels

• Hold a full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills:

• An understanding of water industry control panels including height sensing equipment, relay logic and PLC controls.

• Confined Spaces

• First Aid at Work

The Package:

Role: Electrical Fitter

Salary: £24,200 to £27,200 per annum dependent upon experience.

Overtime: Regular overtime available

Overtime paid at a premium of 1.5x and 2x basic rate dependant on hours.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am to 4.30pm

Benefits: Contributory pension scheme

28 days annual leave
