We are seeking a highly experienced MIG/TIG welder with the competence to produce work to the highest standards with a eye for detail and the technical know-how to produce welding assemblies to exact specification drawings. The role is welding and fabricating using aluminium sheet metal and mild steel. You will need to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of engineering manufacture including sheet metal work machinery and hold a recognised City & Guilds Welding Certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce welded frames to company engineering drawings and standard schedules from stock material in primarily aluminium extrusion, angle and box sections produced out of aluminium and mild steel.
* Ensure that a strong attention to detail is applied to all tasks performed.
* Ensure all PPE is always worn.
* Ability to use MIG and TIG welding equipment, a formal training certificate is desirable.
* Ability to finish welded assembly or individual piece parts by fettling process.
* Ability to use company equipment, saws CNC press brake, guillotine, sheet metal equipment.
* Liaise with Design Engineers and Production Management to ensure any modifications or amendments are completed.
* Identify and expedite any missing components ensuring their availability to meet the build scheduling completion/delivery date or provide feedback where the date cannot be achieved.
* Meet the weekly targets set for the assembly of units as specified in work load documentation.
* Be aware of risks and hazards associated with the various tasks throughout the workplace. Being mindful of your part in ensuring your own safety and that of your colleagues.
* Ensure that the department maintains a high level of quality whilst working to company standards and Health and that safety requirements are always paramount.
* Ensure that all elements of the QC sheets are filled in correctly once unit is welded.
* Ensure the Cell working area is kept in a clean and tidy state.
* Demonstrate the ability to work on both an individual basis and as part a team.
