I'm pleased to be working with a successful group of businesses who are looking to hire a strong technical accountant into their group finance function.

The company have an extremely strong balance sheet which ensures the stability of the organisation and ensures they can be at the forefront of their industry by looking at acquisitions and CAPEX opportunities.

The role itself sits within the high performing Group Finance function that is already in place at the company and will ensure personal development opportunities for the candidate.

You will need sound financial understanding for this position but you won't just be sat behind a desk, you will have to an inquisitive nature and speak to key stakeholders in the wider business.

Areas of responsibility;

Preparation and maintenance of head office company accounts, including:

Ensuring financial transactions comply with relevant accounting standards.
Making recommendations for accounting treatment of new types of transaction and highlight anomalies in existing postings.
Ensuring reconciliations and other controls and processes for ensuring the day-to-day integrity of the cash book and general ledger are documented, performed and effective.
Overseeing the general ledgers for all head office companies, including completeness and accuracy of monthly postings.
Producing head office monthly management accounts and accompanying cost analysis and commentary for review by the Group Reporting Manager, in line with the Group's reporting timetable.

Assisting the Group Reporting Manager in the preparation of the Group's management and statutory reporting including:

Consolidated IFRS monthly management accounts (including covenant reporting) and monthly analysis of the Group's results.
Quarterly forecasting.
Annual budget.
Half year and annual published IFRS statutory financial statements.
Preparation and analysis of weekly Group cash forecasting based on submissions from subsidiary finance teams.
Providing support to the Group Reporting Manager to ensure implementation and improvement of the Group's financial processes and procedures required to support the development of the business.
